The Between's habitat wouldn't be complete without water, and it certainly contains a beautiful array of waterfalls, lakes, and ponds - all of which have a faint glow to them. Vai absolutely loves the waterscapes and rarely leaves their vicinity. She is an excellent swimmer but also possesses the ability to manipulate water. She enjoys putting on magnificent water displays for her family, and also uses water as a defense mechanism against the more dangerous creatures of the Between.

 

When she must leave the Between, she always takes a bit of her precious water with her in a small pendant around her neck. Not only does it provide a nice light at night, but it reminds her of home. Water elsewhere just isn't the same, and she longs for her shimmering lakes when she is away from home. 

 

Vai is a show-off and an entertainer at heart. She is also competitive and loves her never-ending search to find someone as fast as her in the water. She's very outgoing and is hardly phased by anything, at least not when she is at home, surrounded by her favorite lake and all the creatures it possesses.
